Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your information.
Last updated: August 2026
1. Who we are
Leader Upp ("Leader Upp," "we," "us," or "our") is a leadership and human skills development firm based in Kigali, Rwanda. This policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you visit leaderupp.com, register for The Human Edge or another event, join the Leader Upp Collective community, submit a form, or otherwise interact with us.
2. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, including:
- Contact details you submit through our contact form, such as your name, email address, organization, and message.
- Information you provide when registering for an event, such as The Human Edge, including your name and email address.
- Your email address when you subscribe to our newsletter.
- Your phone number and profile information if you join the Leader Upp Collective community through our WhatsApp group — this becomes visible to other members of that group under WhatsApp's own terms, which we do not control.
- Any information you choose to share with us directly, such as by email, phone, or during a discovery call.
We may also collect limited technical information automatically when you browse our website, such as your browser type, device type, and pages visited, to help us understand how the site is used and to keep it secure.
3. Is providing your information required?
Providing personal information to us is always voluntary. However, if you do not provide the information we request — for example, your name and email address when registering for an event or submitting the contact form — we may not be able to process your registration or respond to your inquiry.
4. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiries and provide the coaching, corporate programs, or events you request.
- Process and manage event registrations.
- Send you newsletters, event invitations, and leadership insights, where you have subscribed to receive them.
- Improve our website, programs, and communications.
- Meet our legal, regulatory, and administrative obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you.
5. Third-party service providers
We rely on trusted third parties to help us operate our website and services, including our email newsletter platform, our website hosting provider, scheduling tools used to book consultations, and WhatsApp for community messaging. Some of these providers are located, and process data, outside Rwanda. These providers only receive the information needed to perform their function and process it under their own privacy and security practices. We do not permit them to use your information for their own marketing purposes.
6. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including to provide our services, maintain business records, and comply with legal obligations. Where information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize it.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request that we correct or update it, request that we delete it, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw your consent at any time — for example, by unsubscribing from our newsletter using the link in any email, or by leaving our WhatsApp community. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with Rwanda's National Cyber Security Authority (NCSA), through its Data Protection and Privacy Office.
8. Cookies
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site running properly and to understand how it is used. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; doing so may affect some features of the site.
9. Electronic communications and unsubscribing
Every marketing email we send — such as newsletters and event invitations — clearly identifies Leader Upp as the sender and includes a working link to unsubscribe. You can also ask us at any time to stop sending you marketing communications by contacting us directly.
10. Children's privacy
Our website and services are directed at working professionals and are not intended for children. In line with Rwandan law, we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16 without the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
11. Data security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
13. Contact us
If you have questions about this policy or how we handle your personal information, contact us at levelup@leaderupp.com or through our contact page.
